-There will be a special diocesan convention:  May 14th at Emmanuel Church in Winchester; Presiding Bishop Curry will be in attendance.  This is to elect a bishop to fill in for the next year.
-There was discussion on obtaining a new, part-time priest.  There are several interested parties.
-Lent/Easter went well.  We had 75 in attendance on Easter, 3 were from post cards, and a thank you from one person.  He got it a couple of months after his mother passed away, and is planning to attend when he has her affairs wrapped up.  We agreed we should do this several times a year.
-Newspaper Ad – new ad is in the paper and Jack Razor did an additional ad.

New Business:
-Reading Camp - Shannon Peck will lead this;  more info later.
-Parochial Report:  Mary, Jansje and Brenda put it together. 
-On Saturday mornings at 8AM, there will be lawn maintenance (mowing, raking, etc.).  Come if you want to help.  
-Treasurer's report: we will need to do a revised budget, but Greg pointed out that the budget has been voted on and cannot be adjusted until next budget.  Discussion about budget ensued.            
-Next Meeting  Sunday May 15th , 2015


The Daughters of the King will hold their regular meeting on 1 May after church.  All Daughters and anyone interested in finding out more about the order are welcome to attend. 


Thanks to everyone who brought items for the month of April.  For May, we are asking people to bring trash bags (white), dish soap, 10 oz plastic cups, paper towels.
Please don't forget to sign up your Kroger card for Ascension Church..


Plan to attend the Derby Party at Darren and Martha Payne's on 7 May.  Bring a dish;  we gather at about 3:00PM for snacks and fellowship, and eat after the race.  Come and enjoy

The annual ECW Retreat will be held at the Cathedral Domain from 4:00PM Friday 13 May to after lunch on Sunday 15 May.  The Rev. Canon Elise Johnstone will be the conductor.  There will be activities, but also time for solitude and exploring the beauty of the Domain.  They would like to know by 30 April, but if you notify Sister Becky (see enclosed application form for info) as soon as possible, you can probably get in.


Gateway Children’s Services:  Ascension is working weekly with the Gateway children on building life skills, which includes the children preparing dinner once a month after the Wednesday Evening service.  There is always an on-going need of the following items for the Gateway Teens: socks, undershirts (large and extra large), twin sheets, towels, pencils, drawing pads, journals. PG-13 movies, games, puzzles, puzzle books, soap, shampoo, lotion, and hair elastics.

M&M Food Pantry: They always need food, donations, and substitute workers. They especially need baby food, canned fruit, dried beans, Spaghetti O’s, tuna fish, and tuna helper dinners and powdered milk.  Please continue to bring your offerings for the plate and our basket.
